Good Time - BLURAY, Digital HD

**Editorial Review of "Good Time"** "Good Time," directed by Benny and Josh Safdie, is a gripping exploration of family loyalty, moral ambiguity, and desperation set against the backdrop of a single tumultuous night in New York City. Robert Pattinson delivers a standout performance as Connie Nikas, a character fueled by love for his brother Nick, who has developmental disabilities. The film artfully encapsulates the complex dynamics between familial bonds and the influence of societal structures on individual choices. The narrative begins with Connie's misguided attempt to help Nick, inadvertently dragging him into a chaotic bank robbery that sets the story's dark tone. As events unfold, Connie’s character is revealed to be deeply flawed; he is manipulative and often blinded by his own desires and shortcomings. This complexity makes the film thought-provoking as it tackles difficult themes of personal accountability and toxic masculinity, particularly within the context of Greek-American cultural norms. The Safdie brothers skillfully craft a tense atmosphere that keeps viewers on edge, showcasing a vivid and often grim portrayal of Queens. The film’s pacing and cinematography amplify the intense emotions experienced by the characters, drawing audiences into Connie’s desperate and erratic journey. As he encounters various people, including his girlfriend Corey and new accomplices, the plot thickens and spirals more into chaos, revealing the increasingly dire Consequences of his actions. "Good Time" isn’t merely a crime drama; it invites viewers to wrestle with their understanding of right and wrong, complicating sentiments of empathy and judgment. The acting, particularly from Pattinson and the supporting cast, elevates the narrative, providing a raw look into the struggles and goings-on of individuals at the mercy of their choices. In sum, "Good Time" is an intense cinematic experience that challenges viewers to confront difficult truths about human nature and the lengths one might go for family. Its clever writing, combined with powerful performances, solidifies it as a must-watch in modern independent cinema. **
