The Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies Israelensis bacteria, found in this product, does not harm fish, mammals, birds, humans, frogs, or other insects, but instead only targets the larvae of the listed pests. The bits kill larvae quickly, while the dunks release slowly and can be active for up to 30 days. The instructions are easy, just sprinkle one teaspoon per 25 square feet or one tablespoon per 75 square feet. MOSQUITO BITS should be applied uniformly, and a seven to fourteen day interval between applications should be observed. Nonetheless, the product is not effective against adult mosquitoes, and repeated treatments are necessary.
