รายละเอียดสินค้า
- A fact-filled story about a little girl and an evergreen tree that grow up side by side. Perfect for anyone who loves the natural world—or wonders about the origins of their holiday tree.On the morning little Zee Cooper is born, a Douglas-fir seedling emerges from the nursery bed at her family’s Christmas tree farm. As Zee and the tree grow up together, they experience many of the same milestones. When Zee starts preschool, her tree is ready to start life outside the nursery. As Zee outgrows all her clothes, her tree grows taller, too. When Zee gets a whole new look for kindergarten, her tree gets a spiffy transformation as well. And as the years go on, Zee takes loving care of her tree, watering it through heat waves and protecting it from winter winds. Combining interesting details about how trees are grown and cared for on a farm with the sweet story of a friendship between a girl and her special tree, Zee Grows a Tree offers a blend of fiction and nonfiction that will draw the interest of young nature lovers everywhere. In the back of the book, readers will find an index, bibliography, and an author’s note suggesting some ways to enjoy a holiday tree without cutting one down.

Forests & Trees Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of "Zee Grows a Tree"** The children's book "Zee Grows a Tree" offers a charming tale that intertwines the growth of a young girl, Zee, and her beloved Douglas fir tree, set against the backdrop of her family’s tree farm. The story begins at Zee's birth, coinciding with the sprouting of her tree seedling, creating a heartwarming parallel as both grow and develop together. Readers are drawn into Zee's world, where she nurtures and cares for her tree, particularly during a drought that tests their bond and Zee's dedication. The narrative is enhanced with side texts about Douglas fir trees, providing educational insights without interrupting the flow of the main story. This thoughtful design allows children, particularly those aged 4 to 8, to learn about nature and tree farming while enjoying the engaging plot. Zee's character is portrayed as cheerful and nurturing, making it easy for young readers to connect with her journey. Illustrations in the book have garnered high praise for their soft, refreshing colors and delightful details that complement the story. The art style combines pencil drawings with mixed media, resulting in a visually appealing experience that is sure to captivate young audiences. Additionally, the book not only presents an entertaining narrative but also includes practical advice for tree care and sustainability, making it an ideal addition to any child’s library. It’s a touching story that celebrates the themes of growth, environmental awareness, and the special bond between a child and nature. **
