Proper storage also extends the life of the charcoal, enabling it to be utilized to its fullest potential.

Can the charcoal be sharpened to a fine point?

Yes, the chunky design of the CRETACOLOR Art Chunky Charcoal sticks can be sharpened using a craft knife or a sharpener designed for charcoal. This gives you the flexibility to create both broad strokes and fine details in your artwork. Being able to adjust the point helps artists transition between different techniques easily, whether they are sketching or working on detailed shading.

What is the best way to clean up after using the charcoal?

Cleaning up after using the CRETACOLOR Art Chunky Charcoal can be easily managed with a damp cloth or a gentle brush to remove excess charcoal dust. Cretacolor Chalk 15-49-799 Editorial Review

The CRETACOLOR Art Chunky Charcoal Set is highly recommended for gestural figure drawing. The water soluble chalks have nice adherence on paper surfaces. However, multiple customers have complained about the inadequate packaging by Amazon, resulting in broken and damaged items. Despite the packaging issue, the charcoal set is praised for its sharpness and ability to create a range of lights and darks. It is also considered a perfect set for travel and small projects. The individual packaging of the chalks can be inconvenient to open and close, but storing them separately prevents color contamination. Overall, customers love the smoothness of these charcoals on paper.
