Whirlwind Direct Boxes Editorial Review
Whirlwind IMP 2 1-Channel Passive Instrument Direct Box is a compact and user-friendly device ideal for musicians needing a reliable direct injection solution. Many users have praised its performance, particularly highlighting how it significantly improves sound quality by converting instrument signals into mic signals effortlessly. With a solid stainless steel construction, the IMP 2 is built to withstand the rigors of live performances and road use. The low impedance XLR output ensures clean signal transmission over long distances, and its parallel high impedance output offers additional versatility. However, users noted that it has a built-in attenuation to prevent clipping, which can result in slightly quieter output requiring careful gain staging.
