Dorman 76920 Window Crank Handle

The Dorman 76920 Window Crank Handle, designed for select Volkswagen models, presents a mixed reception among users, firmly reflecting the adage "you get what you pay for." While some customers praise the product, noting its compatibility and improved strength compared to their old handles—especially on classic models like the 1976 VW Beetle—this positive feedback is overshadowed by accounts of poor quality and durability. A significant number of users reported disappointing experiences wherein the crank handle failed shortly after installation, with some versions breaking within days of use. Customers complained about the quality of the plastic, describing it as thin, cheap, and prone to snapping. Issues such as rough edges and a non-functional knob further compounded dissatisfaction, leading several reviewers to advise potential buyers to Consider alternative brands for a more reliable product. In essence, while the Dorman 76920 may serve as an appealing, cost-effective replacement for some Volkswagen owners, the Consensus leans toward a cautionary recommendation due to widespread concerns regarding its material quality and overall durability. **
