EMG Editorial Review
The EMG J5 Active 5 String Jazz Bass Pickup Set is a full active set that needs to be wired to 9v with preamp. It comes with everything required for a solder-free installation. The pots are solid shaft and fit more suited to screws than push-on knobs. The EMG JL pickups are recommended for a 4-5 string bass. The covers on these pickups do not come off. The wiring diagram is included in the package along with available online support. They do fit well modified basses like Squire Jazz bass. Several satisfied customers reviewed the quality and sound of these pickups. However, it may not fit some bass models like the Peavey Millestone/Millenium 5 series.
