Pressman Board Games 1113-12 Editorial Review
**** The chess, checkers, and backgammon set presents a mixed bag of experiences for customers, particularly highlighting its appeal for beginner players and children. Priced affordably, it strikes a balance between value and functionality, making it a commendable option for those new to these classic games. Many users appreciate the lightweight and simple design, which enables easy gameplay and teaching opportunities. While the chess pieces and checkers are described as functional, some customers note their lightweight and plasticky feel, which may lead to toppled pieces during gameplay, especially in less stable environments. The checkers received positive remarks for their appearance and, notably, their stackable design – a fun feature for younger players. The addition of dice offers versatility, presenting multiple games to try with the included pieces. However, there are concerns regarding the board's durability. Customers have reported that the board is flimsy and not entirely flat, diminishing its overall quality. One complaint mentioned cosmetic issues, such as scuffed paint or creases upon arrival. The packaging was also critiqued for being less protective than desired, indicating that this set may not withstand much travel. Overall, this set is perfect for casual play or as a first introduction to the games, particularly for kids. Though it may not meet the expectations of those looking for a higher-quality, sturdier option, it provides a solid foundation for foundational learning in chess, checkers, and backgammon. **
