Lanikai Ukuleles ACSTC Editorial Review
** Lanikai 4-String Ukulele** The Lanikai 4-String Ukulele (Concert ACSTC) is making waves among ukulele enthusiasts, especially those transitioning from soprano instruments. Customers highlight the appealing tonal qualities of the Acacia solid top, noted for its warm and sweet sound that resonates beautifully. While it may not be as loud or punchy as its spruce counterpart, the ukulele compensates with a richness that sustains well, making it a delight for those who appreciate deeper tones. One of the standout features of this model is its build quality. Users have observed a noticeable improvement in craftsmanship since the production shift from Indonesia to China, with many expressing satisfaction over the fit and finish—especially for the price point. The ukulele's neck is also praised for being wider at the nut, enhancing playability and fingerpicking comfort, which is a boon for both beginners and experienced players alike. However, there are minor drawbacks that users should be aware of. The original strings have received criticism for their poor sound quality, prompting many to opt for replacements, such as the recommended Aquila new nygut strings, which notably elevate the instrument's performance. Additionally, some customers have encountered issues with the open-back tuners, which can feel gritty and may not be properly fitted. Despite these challenges, there’s a sense of optimism after adjusting and restringing the instrument, as many found their experience transformed positively, citing near-promising ratings post-set-up. In sum, the Lanikai Concert Ukulele garners positive feedback for its sound quality, build, and playability, making it an excellent choice for both newcomers and seasoned players looking for a portable option. **
