Cannibal Corpse, M/C

**** "Cannibal Corpse, M/C" by Tim Curran immerses readers in a gritty, post-apocalyptic world dominated by outlaw biker gangs, mutants, and relentless challenges. The protagonist, John Slaughter, is a compelling anti-hero who embodies a tough yet honorable code in a landscape filled with grotesque horrors and moral ambiguity. Curran masterfully blends action, horror, and a sense of dark humor through Slaughter's journey as he battles various grotesque creatures and navigates the treacherous dynamics of gang rivalries—all while maintaining a gripping narrative pace. The book efficiently executes the traditional quest structure, as Slaughter and his group of surviving gang members set off on a mission fraught with danger and vivid obstacles. The narrative includes a colorful array of imaginative horrors, from mutant children to apocalyptic weather systems—each encountered with thrilling encounters that keep readers on their toes. Despite some repetitiveness in the graphic depictions and a tendency to overstate Slaughter's outlaw identity, the engaging writing style and character development shine. Readers come to appreciate Slaughter not only for his grit but also for his loyalty and honor, lending depth to his character amidst the chaotic setting. Curran's work has drawn parallels with genre giants, reminiscent of both Robert E. Howard's adventurous tales and the wild energy found in Joe Lansdale’s stories, ensuring that fans of the genre will find much to savor here. Overall, "Cannibal Corpse, M/C" is a wild ride that promises thrills, laughs, and a desire for more, leaving readers keen for a sequel. **
