Kershaw Speedform II

### Editorial Review of the Kershaw Speedform II The Kershaw Speedform II is an impressive and innovative folding knife that pays homage to its predecessor while presenting enhancements that appeal to both collectors and practical users. As a distinguished finalist at the Blade Show, the Speedform II has garnered attention for its unique aesthetics and high-performance materials. Crafted from single-billet ELMAX® powdered steel, this knife exhibits superior edge retention, making it a reliable tool for a variety of tasks. The blade, characterized by its stiletto-point design, is complemented by its speedy manual opening mechanism via thumb studs, which are praised for their comfortable grip and quick deployment. Users find that the action is notably smooth, a hallmark of Kershaw's production quality. However, it’s essential to note that the Speedform II does not feature Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening, which may be a Consideration for those accustomed to such mechanisms. The handle, made from 3-D machined G-10 fiberglass, provides a modern touch, although some users feel it lacks the ergonomic finesse of previous models. The liner lock mechanism raises some concerns because it only engages at the near edge of the tang rather than across its length, which can potentially undermine user confidence. Nevertheless, the overall design still offers a comfortable fit in the hand, making it usable for extended periods. Aesthetically, while the Speedform II retains a distinctive look, opinions vary on its visual impact compared to the original Speedform. Some reviewers feel that it does not fully capture the artistic essence of its predecessor, leaning more toward being a functional tool rather than a statement piece. In summary, the Kershaw Speedform II stands as a solid contender in the realm of folding knives with its performance-driven design, sharp blade, and ease of use. For those who appreciate a balance of utility and modern aesthetics, the Speedform II is sure to meet expectations, if not exceed them. ####
