DVD Editorial Review
**** "Sofia the First: The Floating Palace" captivates young audiences with its enchanting storytelling and engaging characters. Tailored for children, particularly those enamored with Sofia and her adventures, the movie has proven to be a delight for families. Many parents report that their children are thoroughly entertained, laughing and interacting with the characters throughout the film. The introduction of Oona, a charming mermaid, has been especially well-received; she brings a fresh perspective that even some adults find more appealing than Sofia’s village friends. The inclusion of Princess Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" adds an exciting element to the narrative, complete with a lovely new song that resonates well with fans of both franchises. Notably, the film doesn't merely entertain but also imparts meaningful lessons on kindness, bravery, and the importance of friendship—an admirable quality that parents appreciate. Moreover, the DVD offers additional value by featuring three more episodes, providing a variety of stories that extend the viewing experience. The animation quality and sound are reported to meet high standards, further contributing to its acclaim. With its array of characters and heartfelt messages, "Sofia the First: The Floating Palace" stands out as a fantastic addition to any child's collection, especially for fans of Sofia and mermaid tales. However, some users have expressed frustration regarding the disc's compatibility, noting that it does not work with American DVD or Blu-ray players. This lack of clear advertising about the PAL format compatibility has disappointed a few customers, detracting from the overall positive reception of the product. **
