That said, some parents might encounter difficulties when transitioning their child from the 0-3 month Soothie to the 3-18 month version. Specifically, the 3-18 month pacifiers are harder, which some babies may not prefer. Additionally, for breastfeeding mothers, the Soothie doesn't have the flared bulb of other pacifiers, making it less practical to use without assistance. Parents will also notice that the blue color isn't very visible, making it difficult to locate in the dark. Ultimately, the Philips AVENT Soothie is a great buy but parents should keep in mind the potential issues mentioned and choose the color appropriately.
