Drum Workshop Mounting Hardware Editorial Review
The DW 3 Position Butt Plate for snare drums has garnered enthusiastic feedback from musicians who appreciate its innovative design and functionality. Users frequently note the smooth operation of the lever, allowing for quick adjustments to snare wire tension with just a flick. This feature is particularly praised during live performances, where such rapid changes can enhance the adaptability of a drummer's sound to different musical styles. Many customers commend the quality Construction of the butt plate, highlighting its robust feel and attractive chrome finish that aligns with DW's reputation for excellence in drum hardware. Drummers also enjoy the versatility it brings—transforming the sound of a snare to emulate different tunings, from tight and sharp to loose and fat, effectively enabling multiple sounds from a single drum. A common theme in feedback is the desire for adjustable mounting screw holes, as some users have found difficulties when retrofitting these plates to existing drums. While the majority of reviews remain overwhelmingly positive, users expressed a preference for having the option to customize screw hole placements. Furthermore, some noted that the "loose" setting can feel excessively loose compared to tighter settings, suggesting a need for a fine-tuning mechanism. Overall, the DW 3 Position Butt Plate is seen as an indispensable upgrade for snare drums, enhancing playability and sound versatility, albeit with minor suggestions for improvement in its design. **
