Amazon Basics Cabinet Safes 18EI-43 Editorial Review
The Amazon Basics Steel Security Safe is generally well-received by customers for its balance of quality and affordability. Many users appreciate its robust design, noting that it is more substantial than a shoebox and offers ample space for storing essential items such as money, jewelry, and identification documents. Its size, at 20 liters, is Considered perfect for housing necessary belongings without taking up excessive space. A common point of praise among reviews is the ease of use, with many customers finding the digital keyboard simple to operate. The internal compartments, including two trays lined with felt, have also been highlighted for their practical design and functionality. However, there are notable criticisms as well. Several reviews point out vulnerabilities in the safe's locking mechanism, particularly due to the emergency lock feature and the potential for the lock to be bypassed with basic tools available for purchase. Users suggest that an external power source for the lock would be a beneficial addition, especially in cases where the batteries die. Furthermore, while most customers are satisfied with the overall quality, there are concerns about the plastic material used for the opening handle, which some feel should be of metal for added security and durability. Overall, the Amazon Basics Steel Security Safe stands out as a reliable choice for budget-Conscious Consumers looking for a practical solution for securing their valuables, but potential buyers should be aware of its limitations regarding security features. **
