Paperback Anime & Manga Editorial Review
### Editorial Review Made in Abyss has garnered a highly positive reception among manga enthusiasts, Consistently praised for its unique storytelling and immersive artwork. Readers have noted the stark contrast between its initial whimsical charm and the increasingly dark themes that unfold as the narrative develops—particularly from the third volume onward. This tonal shift, while jarring for some who might expect a children’s story, is celebrated by many as it deepens the complexity of the tale, firmly positioning it within the seinen category. The technical quality of the manga itself also receives commendation; many reviewers highlight the exceptional quality of the pages and cover, noting the inclusion of several full-color pages as an appealing enhancement to the reading experience. The translation has been well-received, with commendations for its accuracy, although some readers express a preference for more localized expressions typical of Spanish editions. While the themes explored, including suffering and loss, lend a profound weight to the narrative, they also lead to warnings that this is not suitable for younger readers. The depiction of darker elements, such as violence and grotesque scenarios, is a notable aspect that attracts adult audiences while repelling those expecting lighter fare. Overall, Made in Abyss is lauded as a masterful work, recommended for those looking for depth, intricate character development, and a blend of repulsion and allure in storytelling. ###
