Kindle Edition Classics Editorial Review
Harriet Rara Avis nº 12 is a gripping novel that intricately weaves the harrowing true story of Harriet, based on the notorious 'Mystery of Penge'. The author, Elizabeth Jenkins, skillfully constructs a chilling narrative that explores the depths of human cruelty, as seemingly normal characters engage in horrific acts without remorse. Readers have noted the effectiveness of the psychological portrayal of the characters, enhancing the impact of the story. Many found themselves captivated, unable to put the book down, despite the underlying horror of the events that unfold. The slow build-up adds to the suspense, making the eventual climax even more poignant. Overall, it’s a beautifully executed account that resonates with true crime enthusiasts, leaving a lasting impression.
