- Nef'i (ö.1635): Erzurum'un Pasinler ilçesinde doğmuştur. Babası Sarıkamış sancak beyi Mehmed Bey'dir. Divan edebiyatının en ünlü heccav ve methiyecilerinden biri olan Nef'i'nin asıl adı Ömer'dir. Türkçe Divan'ının LX. kasidesinden anlaşıldığına göre şaire Nef'i mahlasını zamanın ileri gelenlerinden Gelibolulu Ali Bey vermiştir. I. Ahmed'in saltanatının ilk yıllarında İstanbul'a giden Nef'i bir süre devlet hizmetinde çalışmıştır. IV. Murad devrinde padişaha ve yüksek makam sahibi devlet adamlarına yazdığı methiyelerle şöhret kazanan şair, hedef aldığı kimi kişileri sövgüye varan hicivlerle rencide ettiği için giderek gözden düşmüş ve bu nedenle idam edilmiştir. Eserleri kaside, musammat ve kıt'a-i kebireler, gazel, kıt'a, rubai ve matla'lardan oluşan, methiyelerin öne çıktığı Türkçe Divan, daha çok tasavvufi aşka dair şiirlerin yer aldığı Farsça Divan ve hiciv külliyatı olan Siham-ı Kaza'dır.
