Mxl 990

The MXL 990 microphone has garnered mixed reviews from users, particularly among beginners in the audio recording field. Users have noted that it is a decent entry-level microphone, making it a suitable choice for those just starting in the profession. The sound quality it offers is commendable for its price point, performing well in various recording situations. However, some users have encountered quality control issues, particularly with the shock mount; one reviewer reported that the connection screw broke during the first use, which led to frustration due to the seller's lack of support in resolving the issue. Customers also expressed disappointment with the seller's response to inquiries about replacement parts, highlighting a gap in customer service which detracted from the overall experience. While the microphone itself delivers solid performance, concerns regarding the accessories and the responsiveness of the seller seem to mar the overall satisfaction for some users. Overall, the MXL 990 stands out as an excellent starting microphone for novices, but potential buyers should be wary of possible accessory-related issues and the level of support they might receive post-purchase. **
