What type of metals can the V-Pads hold?

Round, flat, and square parts made of steel.

How strong are these? Could I put them on either side of a broken drawer/particleboard to hold it together?

They grip metal quite well but penetration through non-ferrous material not too good. I've also noticed that if the torch gets them hot they will lose their magnetism. Bummer!

Los cables con pinsas para una máxima amiko

Esos cables son para una maquina de soldar

Do they lock in place?

Each leg rotates on a pin, so they do not lock per say, but once both are placed on a part, they do not move. This is made for work with 1/4‘’to 3/8’’ thick metal and relatively small. The magnet are strong, but will most likely not hold 1/2’’. If you used more than one, it is very secure.

What would you suggest I do? I purchased these magnets a few months ago. I barely have used them and they are already starting to lose magnetism.

When you heat magnets up they will lose magnesium? You could shoot an email out to strong hand, you never know.

Are these made in China?

Most of their products are made in china.

What strength are the magnets?

When new the magnets are pretty strong and not damaged by heat. These use a thin wave spring washer in the joint for friction and they do not have much friction. These are for holding small parts in place. I would say the magnets are strong enough for the amount of friction provided. Heat ruins magnet and Strong Hands warns against exposure to temps above 176F. Tack your pieces and get these out of heat zone pronto. They do make larger versions.

Strong Hand Tools Welding Accessories MVDF44 Editorial Review

Strong Hand Tools MVDF44 Adjustable V Pads, Bronze are essential for welders needing reliable support. Made from durable alloy steel, these V-shaped pads provide a strong pull force of 8.2 kilograms, ensuring your workpieces stay secure during welding tasks. Users have found them invaluable for holding bolts and other small parts, particularly when needing a steady hand. While one user experienced a magnet falling out, most appreciate their strong grip on flat steel surfaces and the ease of adjusting the hinges for different angles. Remember to keep them away from excessive heat to maintain their magnetic properties, as some users learned the hard way.
