Hohner Harmonica, multi-coloured (1896BX-A)

The HOHNER HARMONICA 1896BX-A Marine Band in the key of A Major has received mixed reviews from customers. While some customers have praised its playability and sound quality, others have had negative experiences. One customer was disappointed with the product as it arrived out of tune with a warped comb, making it unplayable. They expressed their dissatisfaction and would not recommend it to others. In contrast, another customer who had been practicing for seven weeks and owned two of these harmonicas highly recommended them for beginners, highlighting their ease in playing single notes. Another customer had previous experience with Marine Band harmonicas and decided to try them again out of curiosity. While they loved the sound, they found the wooden comb uncomfortable compared to the smooth comfort of a plastic comb. They also mentioned the possibility of tongue swelling due to the wood's moisture absorption. On the positive side, a customer found the harmonica to be decent, although they detected a slight tendency for harmonic overtones to appear. They suggested that this might settle with use. They also mentioned that the Marine Bands were slightly thin-toned at the higher end compared to the Deluxe or Special 20 harmonicas. One customer was very satisfied with their purchase, finding the harmonica to be comfortable to play, easy to use, and with an awesome sound. They praised the product's quality and stated that they had no issues with their long beard and mustache getting caught in it or the wood swelling when soaked. This customer also mentioned owning the Special 20 harmonica but preferred the Marine Band. Lastly, a customer mentioned that their stepfather loved the harmonica, finding it easier to play than his bagpipes. However, their stepfather's wife was not thrilled when he brought the harmonica to bed. Overall, customer experiences and reception of the HOHNER HARMONICA 1896BX-A Marine Band in the key of A Major have been mixed. Some customers have had issues with tuning and quality, while others have praised its sound and playability.
